How to Play WoW Arena in Your Browser
Last updated:
Here is how to play WoW arena in your browser: pick one of the fan-made games below, open its official site in a desktop browser, and press the guest button. You can be in your first fight within minutes, with nothing to install.
Which one to pick
There are two browser games built for WoW-style arena PvP, plus one popular WoW-themed game that is not arena at all.
- WebWoW is the pick for duels and 2v2 arena. Its official site says you can choose from 9 classes, duel other players or team up for 2v2 arena, and try it instantly as a guest with no download needed.
- Arena of Champions is the game many players found through video clips and Discord. Its sign-in screen offers Play as Guest ("No account needed"), and its in-game patch notes list rated brackets for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3.
- Azeroth Survivors is a survivor-style game rather than arena PvP. Play it if you want solo PvE waves, not duels. It also offers an optional Windows download; see wow arena browser download and mobile for what is official and what to avoid.
Open it: your first step
Use an up-to-date desktop browser such as Chrome or Edge. Azeroth Survivors needs WebGPU; its own site recommends a current Chrome, Edge or Safari.
- Open the official site for the game you picked (links below this guide), not a look-alike from a search ad.
- Wait for the first load. Assets go into the browser cache, so the first visit is the slowest.
- On WebWoW, press Play as guest and choose your class. The site says no email is needed.
- On Arena of Champions, press Play as Guest. According to the game's own notes, you arrive in town with a guest name like Guest12345, and your heroes, talents, settings and ratings are kept from your first match.
You can create an account later if you want to keep your name and progress. Never enter a Battle.net login on a fan site.
If it's stuck loading
Most "it won't start" problems come down to the browser or the graphics driver. Try these in order:
- Refresh once. The second load is usually faster because part of it is cached.
- Update your browser and close other heavy tabs that compete for your GPU.
- Allow JavaScript and pause script blockers for the site. WebWoW's page notes that JavaScript is required.
- Enable hardware acceleration in your browser settings.
- For Azeroth Survivors, the official site says the game needs WebGPU. It suggests a current Chrome, Edge or Safari, and on Linux Chrome, enabling
chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu. On laptops with two GPUs, it suggests setting the browser to High performance in Windows graphics settings. When the site is overloaded, it shows a "Too many people are playing" message and points to its Discord and an optional Windows download.
Still failing? Arena of Champions and Azeroth Survivors both link a Discord where players report issues.
Picking your first class and first match
Treat your first session as practice:
- Start with a class you know from WoW. Familiar spells make early matches far less confusing. WebWoW lists 9 classes; Arena of Champions gives a guest every hero.
- Duel before you queue. On WebWoW, a 1v1 duel is the quickest way to learn your buttons. Its 2v2 queue lets you join solo (a teammate is found automatically) or with a party of two.
- Expect unrated games as a guest on WebWoW. The game says guest matches do not change rating, and you save an account to start climbing.
- On Arena of Champions, watch a match first. Its in-game Arena Herald lists the matches that are on, and you can watch one to see how classes play before you join a bracket.
Controls basics
These are keyboard-and-mouse games. WebWoW's default bindings follow the classic WoW layout: W A S D to move and strafe, the arrow keys to turn, Space to jump, Tab to target the next enemy, G to attack and C for your character panel. Your class's spells sit on the action bar.
Arena of Champions also uses an action bar with rebindable keys; its patch notes mention F1 to target yourself and F2/F3 for your teammates, and that the mouse wheel can be bound like a key. Before your first rated match, check the key bindings and put your main defensive spell somewhere easy to reach.
FAQ
Where can I play WoW arena in my browser?
On the official sites: webwow.world for WebWoW and arenaofchampions.live for Arena of Champions. Both run in a desktop browser tab and offer a guest option.
Do I need an account to start?
No. WebWoW and Arena of Champions both have a guest button, and you can create an account later. Never use your Battle.net login on a fan site.
Which class should I play first?
Pick a class you already know from World of Warcraft. Familiar spells make it much easier to learn the controls and the pace of arena fights.
Why is the game stuck on the loading screen?
Usually it is the browser or the graphics driver. Refresh once, update your browser, enable hardware acceleration, and for Azeroth Survivors make sure your browser supports WebGPU.
